A level 4 USA Hockey Certified coach, Petr Tichy is the owner of 4D Hockey Training, the leading hockey training program in the Detroit metro area. A technical specialist on ice-specific training, Petr is known for creating detailed hockey training plans that are customized for every individual, from youths who are new to the sport to professional hockey players.
Before dedicating his time to hockey coaching and education, Petr was a career hockey player in the AAA Junior and European professional leagues. Trained and raised for the game of hockey in his hometown of Plzen in the Czech Republic, Petr attended a Czech sports school for 10 years where he learned the European teaching techniques and skills that have been used to prime talented Czech Olympians and NHL superstars. Petr now uses his training and expertise to teach and support the next generation of hockey players.
Petr has 15 years of experience teaching, training, and coaching youth hockey players, but he works with hockey players of all ages and levels, including house, AAA, National Hockey League (NHL), USA Hockey (USAH), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), college, and prospective NHL players. Students travel locally and from across the nation to work with Petr one-on-one, in a team training setting, or to attend 4D Hockey Training camps held throughout the year. Petr specializes in thoughtful and intense instruction of hockey players in skills development and off-season training, both for individuals and groups.
Petr also serves as the head skills development instructor for Rolston Hockey Academy in Detroit, the Little Caesers AAA Hockey Club skills coach, and the skills development coach for Patrik Stefan prospective NHL clients. Petr is fluent in Czech, English, Russian, and Slovak.
Tyler is an accomplished coach working with 4D Hockey since its beginning in 2012. Tyler is the assistant Varsity hockey coach at Bishop Foley High school. Tyler Grew up in Clawson MI playing hockey as a youth in the Metro Detroit area. He has coached with Little Ceasers AAA 06’ and has experience with USPHL, NAHL, USHL, OHL AND NCAA players, currently having students playing at all Levels. Tyler is our go to coach when it comes to shooting instruction, with an intense focus on how to use your body to produce accuracy and power.
State championship little Caesars 2003 midget major. Tendered to USHL’S Tri City Storm. 2 time USHL All Star for the Tri City Storm. 2004 Anderson cup Champion-USHL. Invited to the u-18 USA World junior Camp in Grand Forks, ND. 5th round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2004. Full scholarship to Ferris State University. Attended the Philadelphia Flyers summer rookie camps for 5 years straight after being drafted. Attended the Philadelphia Flyers Main training camp in 2007. 5 years of playing pro in the AHL, ECHL, United Kingdom, and France. Two years in the states, 3 in Europe. Ran my own defensive camps in the summers. Head instructor of Turcotte Stickhandling Camps for the state of Minnesota.
Mark grew up playing high level youth hockey in SE Michigan and was invited
to play Junior A hockey at the age of 18. After a major injury cut his playing career short, he turned to coaching and officiating to stay involved in the game. He has been coaching House, Travel, & AAA hockey for over 20 years at age groups from Mite through High School. He is an accredited USA Hockey Level 4 coach and also has been trained directly by owner Petr Tichy using the 4D Hockey philosophy of on & off-ice skills development. Mark has spent the past five season as a off-ice official for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League and currently for the United States Hockey National Development Program in Plymouth.
Grew up playing the game of hockey and was a star on his Highschool team. He has trained under the 4D Hockey Skills development program. Jordan has been playing hockey and training with the company for three years now.
4D Hockey on ice instructor Alex Paterson-Tichy is a physical therapist at Beaumont Sports Medicine inside the Detroit Skating Club. Alex has her doctorate of physical therapy and was an elite level competitive figure skater. Alex was a national medalist and a member of the USA figure skating team for two years. Alex has provided on ice power and skating skill instruction to hockey players for 10 years. Alex specializes in sports therapy and rehabilitation of figure skating and hockey injuries.
