Off Season Pro Training Program:

This program is designed to provide complete development and preparation of the athlete for the entire season. Repetition and consistency will develop and strengthen players weaknesses while continuing to strengthen a players strengths. Training will include power skating, explosiveness, quickness, stick handling, puck protection, deception, under handling, isolating and then combining combining hand skills with foot skills. Individual and group video analysis, head skills coaches Petr Tichy and Bob Mainhardt plus professional guest coaches.

4D Hockey Training have help Brendan Cheslock and his Kingsville Kings through a winning streak in the GMHL.

Camp Details

Date: May 16th through August 11th (12 weeks 54 hours of on ice training)
Every week 3 Skill Development practices 1.5 hours on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

Group A  (Junior, College, Pros) max 18 players
Time: 8:00am – 9:30am
Location: Hazel Park

Group B (Junior, College, Pros) max 18 players
Time:  9:30am – 11:00am
Location: Hazel Park

Group C (Junior, College, Pros) max 18 players

4D Hockey Off-Season Pro Training Program

Hockey is a year-round sport. Even when games aren’t being played and the weather hardly reflects a hockey season, to excel at this demanding sport players must train regularly with coaches who are experts at recognizing and developing players’ skill sets.

The 4D Hockey Off-Season Pro Training Program is designed to provide complete development and preparation of the hockey athlete for the entire off-season. Repetition and consistency will allow players to transcend their weaknesses while reinforcing players’ strengths.


Consistent off-season training is what turns a regular hockey player into a stronger, faster contender. The athletes who take their sport seriously and dedicate themselves to conditioning – all year long – will catapult themselves ahead of the competition. The rule is simple: To be good at your sport, you have to train. Train hard. Train often. Train well.


No matter what age group a player falls into, the necessary skill sets to be an outstanding hockey player remain the same. And the right training, from year to year and season to season, is what turns the local hockey league player into a member of the AAA Hockey League, Junior Hockey, NCAA hockey, the American Hockey League, and, ideally, the National Hockey League.

Hockey Skills Development Covered in the Off-Season Training Program

Skills training and development in the 4D Hockey Off-Season Pro Training Program will include the following:

  • Power skating: Proper skating technique – balance, edges, turns, crossovers forward and back, straight, speed, agility – will be the focus in order to correct mistakes and eliminate bad habits. The goal is also to create good muscle memories to improve and maximize a hockey player’s potential.
  • Stick handling: The focus will be on handling the puck in all different situations, from small areas to open areas, and at different speeds. Various techniques for making hockey moves at different speeds will be covered, as well as protecting the puck in a range of high-pressure and low-pressure situations.
  • Shooting: Players will learn about different types of shooting – reshoot, snapshot, slapshot, backend shot – and practice how to manage these shots at varying rates of speed. Learn how to fake a shot, take a shot in small areas, and become adept at shooting no matter the position or constraints.
  • Passing and receiving the puck: Hone puck skills, such as passing with moving feet, receiving the puck while skating, passing in a small area, quick passing, and more.

Additional pre-draft training skills covered will include:

  • Explosiveness
  • Quickness
  • Puck protection
  • Deception
  • Under handling
  • Combining hand skills with foot skills

Each of these techniques will be isolated at first, eventually working up to combining hand skills with foot skills. Practice and repetition always have a place in hockey, and this type of meticulous training is what reinforces a player’s endurance, a skill that’s absolutely mandatory for playing hockey, whether goaltender, defenseman, winger, or center.

Individual and group video analysis are included in the off-season hockey training program which is run by head skills coaches Petr Tichy and Bob Mainhardt, as well as professional guest coaches.
