Ethan Range is entering his 8th year of his professional coaching career, and throughout this time has had the opportunity to learn under many great hockey minds working in various roles within the game, which has provided a well rounded outlook for players under his guidance.

Ethan resides in the Metro Detroit area and graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, where he was playing for their ACHA Div. I program and pursuing medical school prior to his coaching career becoming an actuality.

After his competitive playing career was over, he spent 4 years as the Associate Head Coach for the Novi High School varsity hockey club, winning two regional titles and helping multiple players move on to the junior ranks. Ethan then made the decision to accept a position with the Belle Tire AAA Hockey Club and has spent the last 3 years coaching the ’07 birth year, now entering his second year as the team’s head coach.

Additional to Ethan’s bench coaching, he is also entering his second year as a scout for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. The successful major junior organization has produced many standout NHL’ers and is regularly competing for the OHL Championship.

During his days and off-seasons, Ethan also works as a skills coach and has had the privilege to work with and help advance various players of all ages, including players from NCAA Div. I, OHL, ECHL, AHL and NHL. He spent 4 years as the Director of Player Development at Detroit Hockey Academy; while operating, it was run by former Detroit Red Wing, Manny Legace. His daily responsibilities included on-ice skill development, small group and individual video review, off-ice strength and conditioning programs, along with overall player advisement.

Ethan is excited to be joining the 4D hockey family and will continue to bring and share the passion he has for the game with everyone he works with.
